How I’m Building an AI Affiliate Blog From Zero

I’m building an AI affiliate blog from zero and documenting the process.

This is not a get-rich-quick experiment.

The goal is simple:

Build a small content system around AI tools, SEO, email capture, digital products, and affiliate offers — then test what actually works.

Most “make money with AI” content sounds too vague.

People say things like “use AI tools,” “start a blog,” or “do affiliate marketing,” but they rarely explain the actual structure behind the system.

So I decided to build one myself and document the process.

Why I Started This AI Affiliate Blog

I started this project because I wanted to build a long-term online asset.

Instead of chasing random side hustles, I wanted a system that could grow over time.

The basic idea is:

  • Write AI tool review posts
  • Write pricing guides
  • Write alternatives posts
  • Write comparison articles
  • Add internal links between related posts
  • Use affiliate CTAs naturally
  • Offer a free checklist to collect emails
  • Build a simple digital product for beginners

The goal is not to publish random AI content.

The goal is to build a repeatable AI affiliate blogging system.

The System I’m Building

The system looks like this:

Reddit / Pinterest / YouTube Shorts

AI Blog Article

Free AI Blog SEO Checklist

Email List

AI Blog Starter Kit

AI Tool Affiliate Offers

Each part has a role.

The blog posts bring search traffic.

Pinterest helps create long-term visual search traffic.

Reddit helps test ideas and understand what beginners are struggling with.

The free checklist helps collect emails.

The AI Blog Starter Kit gives beginners templates and structure.

Affiliate links create backend monetization when readers are ready to try tools.

What I Have Built So Far

So far, I have created the basic foundation.

I have published AI tool-related content around topics like:

  • AI writing tools
  • AI tool pricing
  • AI tool reviews
  • AI tool alternatives
  • AI tool comparisons
  • Blogging with AI tools

I also created a free lead magnet called the Free AI Blog SEO Checklist.

This checklist is designed to help beginner AI bloggers review their posts before publishing.

It covers:

  • Keyword targeting
  • Search intent
  • Article structure
  • Internal links
  • Affiliate CTA placement
  • Lead magnet CTA placement
  • Basic SEO checks

The checklist is not the full writing system.

It is a pre-publishing review tool.

The AI Blog Starter Kit is different because it is designed to help beginners actually write and structure the posts.Related AI blogging guides I’m building:

I am building these guides as part of a simple AI affiliate blogging system. The goal is to make it easier for beginners to structure AI tool reviews, pricing guides, alternatives posts, and comparison articles without starting from a blank page every time.

I am also building beginner-friendly structure guides like the AI Tool Review Template to make the writing process easier to repeat.

My Current Traffic Plan

Right now, I am not relying only on Google SEO.

SEO takes time.

So I am also testing external distribution.

My current traffic plan is:

  1. Publish AI tool blog posts
  2. Add internal links between related articles
  3. Add the Free AI Blog SEO Checklist CTA inside relevant posts
  4. Create Pinterest pins for long-term discovery
  5. Leave helpful Reddit comments without spamming links
  6. Track which topics get attention
  7. Improve the posts that start getting impressions

This is the part many beginners skip.

They publish an article and wait.

But one blog post needs multiple traffic paths.

For example, one article can become:

  • 5 Pinterest pins
  • 3 Reddit comments
  • 1 short video idea
  • 2 internal links
  • 1 email topic
  • 1 checklist CTA

That gives the article more chances to be discovered.

What Is Not Working Yet

This project is still early.

I do not have huge traffic yet.

I do not have big results to show yet.

Some posts are indexed, but that does not mean traffic comes immediately.

Some Pinterest pins are published, but they need time to get impressions.

Some Reddit comments may get no replies.

That is part of the experiment.

Building the system is easier than getting consistent attention.

That is why I am focusing on distribution, internal links, and email capture instead of only writing more random posts.

What I’m Testing Next

Next, I am testing a few things.

First, I want to see which AI blog topics get the most interest.

Second, I want to see whether Pinterest can bring long-term traffic to the Free AI Blog SEO Checklist.

Third, I want to test whether Reddit comments can reveal better beginner problems and content ideas.

Fourth, I want to improve the bridge between free content and the AI Blog Starter Kit.

Can a beginner build a small AI affiliate blog system by combining SEO content, simple templates, email capture, and consistent distribution?

That is what I am testing.

The Checklist I Use Before Publishing

Before publishing an AI tool review, pricing guide, alternatives post, or comparison article, I use a simple checklist.

It helps me check whether the post has:

  • One clear keyword
  • A specific search intent
  • A clear article structure
  • Internal links
  • Affiliate CTA placement
  • A lead magnet CTA
  • Basic SEO elements
  • A useful next step for the reader

Final Thoughts

I am still at the early stage of this AI affiliate blog experiment.

The goal is not to pretend that everything is already working perfectly.

The goal is to build in public, test the system, and improve based on real signals.

If you are a beginner, the biggest mistake is trying to do everything at once.

Start with one simple structure:

  • Review posts
  • Pricing guides
  • Alternatives posts
  • Comparison articles
  • Internal links
  • One clear CTA
  • One free checklist
  • One email list

Then repeat the system.
